This week’s episode of the podcast is all about sale season.

When we see others running sales, we feel a certain pressure to run one too, and for it to be just as big.

In all reality, a big sale might not be a profitable decision for your business.

I wanted to take that question of “should I”, and add in the “what” “when” “how” and “why”, to create a strategic resource for small businesses who are considering or planning to run a sale.

I’ve structured it around Black Friday, but this list can be used at any time of year, even if you’re running a sale in any random week, with less competition. There’s also some insights for those who aren’t in retail and ecommerce, since sales in services are now becoming part of the trend.

This year in particular, I expect that the fun spending will be down somewhat for a lot of people, and I think we as business owners should act accordingly, and take that into account with how we approach the silly season.

In the episode, I walk you through the 14 decisions that business owners and marketers need to go through, to curate a positive experience for their customers, while generating profit. I also cover some options at each stage, like the logistics and communication of it, and your customer service.

This is more of a workshop, so you can listen to it on all podcasting platforms, but if you’d like the visual aid of mockups and calculations on screen, the YouTube version might help a little more. Plus, I put a lot of time into those visuals, so I hope they can help people…

I usually wouldn’t pump myself up like this, but I can confidently tell you this is a great resource because I spent far too much time on it. I’ll admit, I would have liked to release this weeks ago, but I also know it will be just as helpful for the rest of peak season shopping and into the new year, and years to come.

Above all else, just like I share in the episode, I wish you luck this holiday season, no matter what that means for your business. I wish you revenue, I wish you all of the good things and that your customers are excited about your offers and that you meet whatever goals you set. I hope as a bare minimum that you learn something that you can implement for next year.
