Help your key messages shine in your content

Memorable Messaging

In an ideal world, we want people to tell others about our businesses, but for that to happen, they need to be clear on what it is you do.

Hi Reader,

When creating content for your business, it's easy to focus solely on topics or trends that are hot right now. But to create content that truly resonates and drives results, it's essential to integrate your key messages consistently into everything you share.

The more consistent your messaging is, the more likely someone who follows your content will be able to resonate with it or repeat it to someone else.

Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Clarify your core messages: Before you begin writing, make sure you know your key messages inside and out. These are the core ideas you want your audience to remember about your business, for example your values, your unique selling proposition, or the problems you solve.
  2. Align your content with these messages: Almost every piece of content you create should reflect and reinforce these key messages. For example, if you make jewelry, your content could consistently highlight your inspirations, approach to raw materials, your style, the work that goes into each piece and the quality or wearability of your pieces.
  3. Be consistent in tone and language: Ensure that the language you use in your content mirrors the tone of your key messages. Whether it’s professional, friendly, or inspirational, the language should always feel authentic to your brand and support the message you want to communicate.
  4. Repeat and reinforce: Consistency is key. You don’t have to repeat the same message word-for-word every time, but make sure that the essence of your key messages comes through regularly, in different formats (blog posts, social media, videos, etc.). Over time, this helps build trust and recognition.

By weaving your key messages into your content, you’ll build a stronger, more consistent brand that speaks directly to your audience.

To create a content strategy that integrates your key messages seamlessly, ask yourself these 3 questions:

  • What do I want a passerby to understand about my business?
  • What do I want a follower of my content to understand?
  • What do I want someone to hear about my business from someone sharing it?

This will help you to check in on and refine what should be conveyed.

Mistakes fuel mastery Like I shared in this week's podcast, truly wasted time is when you keep doing the thing, even when you know it isn't necessary. Hi Reader, We’ve all been there. Putting a lot of effort (and time) into a marketing campaign, only to see that it doesn’t get the traction you hoped for. When things don’t work out, it’s natural to feel frustrated or even critical of yourself. But here’s the thing: Marketing mistakes don’t define you. They’re an opportunity to learn, grow, and...

Big Goals Need A Plan Your dreams won't chase themselves Hi Reader,It’s been a while since I sent an email, but all is well here! I have a podcast episode coming up that will delve into the details of what I've been up to, but today I wanted to share one of the things I have been putting back into practice over the past few months. When working towards any goal, I use a tried and true process to break things down into a loop I can close. It’s one that I’ve also used with most of my clients...

Go your own way Hi Reader Since Honey Pot Digital was just the spark of an idea, my mission was to help small business owners better understand and take action in their marketing. The idea was sparked when I saw a client I was working with get swindled by their ad agency. Specifically, they got a photo done for a campaign they were doing with the business I worked for. The photo was curated to their brand, kinda, but it was missing one key element. The PRODUCT. Not only did they charge them,...
